Swappie Pricing and Credit Policy

This Pricing and Credit Policy explains how Swappie fees work (including service fees and cleaning fees) and how Swappie credits work.

This Policy is incorporated into and forms part of the Swappie Terms of Service. Capitalized terms not defined here have the meanings set out in the Terms of Service.

Swappie is operated by Majerszki Nikolett E.V., a sole proprietor registered in Hungary (“Swappie,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).

1) Pricing

Swappie’s pricing model is designed to keep home swapping straightforward while supporting platform operation and (where offered) coordination services and transaction handling.

1.1 Service Fee

What it is.
A “Service Fee” is a platform fee charged per trip (or per reservation) to support Swappie’s operations, product development, customer support, trust and safety processes, and general platform functionality.

How it’s calculated.
Swappie may offer different membership tiers and/or pricing structures. The specific Service Fee you pay may depend on factors such as:

  • your membership tier (if any),
  • destination or region,
  • trip length,
  • booking timing,
  • and other trip-level factors.

Transparency before booking.
The exact Service Fee will be shown to you before you confirm your booking/reservation, and you will have an opportunity to review the total amount before you commit.

No fee to apply (unless stated).
Unless Swappie explicitly states otherwise on the platform, there is no fee required to apply to become a Member. Swappie may, however, introduce paid tiers or subscription-style membership in the future. If we do, the pricing will be presented clearly before purchase.

Startup note (v1.0).
Swappie is in an early stage. This means we may experiment with pricing to learn what supports a sustainable, fair marketplace. Any changes will be communicated through the platform and will apply prospectively (for future bookings), unless otherwise required by law.

1.2 Cleaning Fee

Why cleaning exists.
To maintain a high-quality experience for both Hosts and Guests, Guests are typically required to pay for cleaning associated with a stay.

Two cleanings (typical model).
In many cases, Swappie requires two cleanings:

  • one cleaning before the trip (so Guests arrive to a clean home), and
  • one cleaning after the trip (so Hosts return to a clean home).

This approach supports consistent standards and reduces friction between Members.

How it’s calculated.
The cleaning fee may vary based on:

  • destination and local market costs,
  • trip length,
  • number of bedrooms and bathrooms,
  • property size and complexity,
  • and in some locations, seasonality.

Shown before booking.
The specific cleaning fee that will be charged will be disclosed before a Member makes a reservation.

Who pays.
Unless Swappie explicitly states otherwise for a specific trip or product feature, the cleaning fee is paid by the Guest as part of the booking flow.

No guarantees about third-party services.
If cleaning is coordinated through third parties, Swappie does not operate as a cleaning company and cannot guarantee the performance, timing, or outcomes of third-party cleaners. Swappie can assist with coordination where available, but Members should report issues promptly through the platform.

2) Credits

Swappie is a give-to-get marketplace. Every Member can be both a Guest and a Host. Members who get the most from Swappie are typically those who host the most and participate actively in the community.

Credits are a platform mechanism that helps make swapping simple and fair—especially when swaps are non-reciprocal (when you host someone now and travel later).

2.1 Give a night, get a night

Credit definition.

  • 1 Credit = 1 night at another Member’s home (subject to availability and approval).
  • When you stay as a Guest, 1 Credit is used per night.
  • When you host as a Host, you earn 1 Credit per night hosted (unless otherwise stated for a specific promotion or program).

2.2 Reciprocal swaps (direct swaps)

If two Members swap homes over the same timeframe (a reciprocal swap), Swappie may structure that exchange so that no Credits are used (or so that Credits net to zero). The exact handling of Credits for reciprocal swaps will be shown in the booking flow.

2.3 Credits have no cash value and are non-transferable

  • Credits are a platform unit, not money.
  • Credits are not cash, not a currency, and not redeemable for cash.
  • Credits are not fungible.
  • Credits cannot be traded, sold, transferred, gifted, or exchanged outside the platform.
  • Credits may only be used within Swappie for eligible stays as permitted by the Terms and this Policy.

2.4 Using credits for immediate family (“Authorized Users”)

A Member may be allowed to use their Credits to arrange a Swappie stay for immediate family members (“Authorized Users”), such as: spouse, domestic partner, parent, sibling, or adult child, only where permitted by the Terms and the booking flow, and only if disclosed properly.

Host approval still applies.
The Host always retains the authority to approve or decline any proposed Guest, including Authorized Users.

Disclosure and responsibility.
All individuals staying overnight must be disclosed and approved in advance in accordance with the Swappie Terms of Service and the Swappie Member Code of Conduct. The Member remains responsible for activities under their account, including the behavior of Authorized Users associated with their booking.

3) How to Earn Credits

Swappie may provide several ways to earn Credits. Credit offers may vary over time and by geography and may be modified or discontinued as Swappie evolves.

3.1 Credits upon acceptance (welcome credits)

If Swappie offers welcome credits, they are granted after your application is accepted and your account is approved.

Current welcome offer (placeholder).
At launch, Swappie may grant [X] Credits upon acceptance.
(Example: 5 Credits, if you want to mirror the inspiration policy.)

The exact amount (if any) will be shown in the onboarding flow or communicated on the platform.

3.2 Host a Guest

For non-reciprocal swaps, you generally earn:

  • 1 Credit for each night a Guest stays at your Home.

These Credits can then be used for future Swappie stays as a Guest. Credits are typically awarded after the stay is completed, unless Swappie specifies otherwise.

3.3 Refer a Friend

Swappie may offer a referral program that allows Members to earn Credits for inviting new Members.

Typical referral structure (example format).
You share a personal invite code. Once the referred person:

  • completes sign-up, and
  • completes required onboarding steps (for example: uploads home photos and completes basic verification steps as required by Swappie),

then the referrer may earn [Y] Credits.

The exact referral requirements and reward amount (if any) will be defined in the referral program terms shown in the platform.

Anti-abuse note.
Swappie may withhold or reverse referral credits in cases of suspected abuse, fraud, duplicate accounts, or policy violations.

4) Important Notes and Limitations

4.1 Credits do not guarantee availability

Credits allow you to request stays, but they do not guarantee that:

  • a specific Home will be available,
  • a Host will approve your request,
  • or that a trip will occur.

All stays remain subject to Host approval, platform rules, and compliance with applicable laws and building/HOA rules.

4.2 Policy changes

Swappie may update fees, Credit rules, and earning opportunities from time to time.

  • New pricing generally applies to future bookings.
  • Updated Credit rules may apply prospectively and/or as permitted by law and the Terms.

Swappie will provide notice through the platform where required.
